Review of The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) by Marilee A — 04 Jun 2011
A classy movie. Not fast paced or over complex, not focused on CGI or special effects, the movie weaves a feel-good, entertaining yarn combining romance and heist with elegance and grace. Rene Russo has never looked better, Pierce is as cool as they come and they are both have enough star power to hold your attention throughout.
The heist are clever and believable as is the chemistry between the two leads. The downside is that there too many scenes confirming that they like each other to the sound of piano in the background. However, those scenes are worth it in the big picture.
If you like a laid back and, for once, happy movie, this is it.
