Review of The Third Man (1949) by John E — 29 Jul 2010
It must be the most offbeat thriller I've yet seen, but it's all done so well that it blends together in what can only be labeled a strange collaboration. The highlight is the brilliant cinematography which makes the city of Vienna itself as much of a character as any of the people.
Fantastic writing and an intriguing mystery create characters who flip narrative and character archetypes on their heads. Great movie.
