"Tell him I'll wait by that wheel there!" Joseph Cotton says right at the start of Reed's prophetic Noir scene. This film is a masterpiece of post-war cinema shot on location in Vienna among WWII rubble.
Joseph Cotton gives an intelligent world weary performance and Orson Welles is haunting as a disturbingly likable apologist for fascism and war in the name of progress.
