Director Carl Reed and writer Graham Greene had something going. Besides this masterpiece, which is not only spy thriller but also a subtle love story, the pair also gave us "Our Man in Havana" and "The Fallen Idol.
" This film, however is the most perfect of the three, through its cinematography, music, acting and script. Among the few near perfect films ever made.
