Review of The Third Man (1949) by Mark C — 25 Dec 2015
Suspenseful storytelling. the photography and script create a bleak atmosphere. New York Times review from 1950 called it perfectly crafted artifice, and this is not far from the mark. Orson Welles just starting to look and act creepy back then.
love the ferris wheel speech and the quote about Switzerland and the cuckoo clock, which I've used in class for many years.
