Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Billy S — 17 Apr 2007
It's amazing how little this film has dated, it's more talky and character based than John Carpenter's 80's remake but in someways all the more rewarding because of that.
It's also a film that benefits greatly from having been made in Black and White as this no only adds to the atmosphere but covers a multitude of sins that it's relativly low budget wouldn't have been able to had it been made in colour.
I don't always enjoy old films as sometimes you have to spend the entire time forgiving their age or lack of production values but it's been an enjoyable hour and a half.
