Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Alyse T — 13 Aug 2008
Ok, so it was bad. Definitely no john Carpenter, but what do you expect for '51? Could've done without the whole plant thing, and wish it had stayed more faithful to the novella, I found it boring, and dragging.
"The Thing" in this film is just a tall Frankenstein type creature. There's nothing really positive about this film. Had to see it after rewatching John Carpenter's The Thing for the millionth time, and I'm glad that he came along and "remade" this bad film.
Maybe I'm just not a fan of old black and white pictures, I don't know. All I know is that The Thing From Another World should've stayed on another world.
