Review of The Thing from Another World (1951) by Geeth G — 14 Feb 2010
After hearing how great this film is and how "they" say it's better than the Carpenter's version, I had to see it. There's a limited sense of isolation, terror, and paranoia. That's the problem.
..it's limited. What I liked was how the team tries to understand the creature's biology. That was nerdy but good for a sci-fi film. It's actually unfair to compare this with Carpenter's version.
I'd say they are loosely related and that's about it. Overall, this is worth watching.
