I was very disappointed with this movie. Being a fan of The Thing from 1982 I expected this film to capitalize on the original,make a good story for it setting as a prequel, and be faithful to the original.

But there's one HUGE, HUGE problem with this movie. Its follows the same basic story as the original. WHY?! I almost feeling like im watching the same exact film. This is supposed to be a prequel NOT A REMAKE! The characters are bland and unlikeable.

The overuse of action draws away the settle, suspenseful, and shocking tone to the original. The effects are terrible. I mean you can totally tell it was all CGI but the original had latex, gallentent, and make up effects that makes authenticity of whats going on therefore making the transformations more gruesome.

, but they were outstanding though. Just because some of the detailed plot points are changed doesn't mean its a entirely different film. Its like adding a few words to a classic song. Just because it has more lyrics doesnt mean its a different song.

The 1982 Thing is a classic. The 2011 prequel just sticks out like a huge sore thumb. If you're a huge fan of the 1982 one as I am, don't bear to watch this lame disappointment.
