Review of The Thing (2011) by Sean D — 11 Jan 2016
And finally, we have the remake. Erm, prequel. So much, so perfectly well done to fit into a mold of being a prequel, that the scenes that play when the credits role are essentially a reenactment of the beginning of the prior film.
So. What have we learned if you saw all 3 films and read all 3 of my films. Can we agree that all 3 share bits and pieces from the story but are all original in their own way? Neither of the 2 later films are remakes.
This one completely explains and contains elements of the original '52 film in telling how the threat came to be. CGI kills this film, along with slightly medicore characters that are forgettable.
Not horrible, but not good either, below average. Better than the first film.
