THE THING! John Carpenter is a master at horror movies. The movie is so magnificent at every level in special effects, brilliantly crafted story, and superb acting. What's so great about the movie though is the suspension and paranoia between the characters dying off one by one never knowing which person is the thing. Kurt Russel is absolutely compelling and believable and easily one of his best movies. John carpenter has made a instant classic in the horror genre and one of his best works. This is one of those real horror movies with the best use of special effects and gore using practical effects! Not CGI!
