Review of The Thing (1982) by Nate B — 16 Nov 2012
It is great to revisit sci-fi and horror films that don't bore us with CGI monsters. Though Ridley Scott made a similar (and penultimate) monster in Alien, Carpenter is able to turn his alien human through terrifying mutations.
It is always unnerving since we don't know where it ever is and how and when it will appear. Even though the characters seem unreasonably ignorant at times or overreactive at other times, The Thing is still a gruesomely enjoyable film .
