How is this movie under 80% on the tomatometer? That is a joke. This movie is art. The perfect science fiction horror, The Thing has great suspense in it and keeps you guessing. John Carpenter is a master at using his sets to make you feel claustrophobic and The Thing is the perfect example.
No director is more underappreciated for what he has done for the film industry than John Carpenter.
