Review of The Thing (1982) by Keenan S — 08 Aug 2013
My original rating for this horror film was 4.5 stars, but I realize this film is even better than that. While I will always love John Carpenter's Halloween, to me, The Thing is a superior and far scarier film in every way.
Everything about this film just drips with atmosphere and tension and it is truly one of the scariest films I've ever seen. The story is a wonderful slow-burn thrill ride, the acting is phenomenal, the special effects are astonishing, the music is superb, and there's rarely a moment without tension in this film.
If you love a good sci-fi or horror film, The Thing is a must-see and it is easily the best of the three film versions.
