It doesn't get better than this. The Thing is the king of horror movies. In every aspect, it succeeds. Atmospherically dreadful and brooding, acted effectively, and host to the absolute best instances of creature/make-up effects the industry has ever offered.
Terrifically grotesque and horrifying. A fantastic craft of subtlety and paranoia. 30 years later...still unbeaten.
