Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Glenn H — 15 Jun 2010
Another favorite of mine. Really just love how this movie is made. The music, acting, cinematography, and characters are all wonderful. However, a couple of warnings. If your watching this film for some captivating George Clooney performance forget it.
He's cast in the last 5 minutes. Secondly, I have found that people either love or hate this movie. Some have difficulty following the plot for whatever reason. Some dislike it because it doesn't follow the book.
Sean Penn, James Caviezel, Nick Nolte, Elias Koteas and Ben Chaplin give great performances in this very well done film situated in 1942-1943 Guadalcanal. This film was nominated for Best Picture in the 1998 Oscar's Academy Awards.
