Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Christopher D — 08 Apr 2011
Not the best war film ever made like some have claimed. There is action, but it is scattered between a 3 hour narrative that doesn't have much to do, but a lot to say. It is a philosophical study of the human emotions during wartime.
Their minds are a wreck, as is the narrative flow of the film. While it teeters upon sappy melodrama, there's still enough hard hitting scenes that make this barely worth recommending. I just wish they had just retitled it "The Thin Red Plot".
