Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Ryan J — 23 May 2011
Although it's a bit long, this is probably the best war movie I saw. Great photography. The shots of plants and animals are puzzling, weird and makes us understand how our fights are vain in comparison with the nature's strength.
This battle for this island somewhere in the Pacific ocean looks useless esp. when you see the island locals far away from the war issue. The majors and captains (N.Nolte, G.Clooney, J.Travolta) who give orders to their soldiers to fight and better die are inept.
