Terrence Malick's ''The Thin Red Line' is an emotionally riveting experience. Not only are the gritty battle scenes shockingly realistic, but the film is one of the best depictions of war I've seen.
It's less about the conflict between two sides and more about the clash of war and nature. The emotional connection you have with all these characters is quite incredible and with great performances from all members of the ensemble cast and Malick's sublime direction, this effort ultimately is a truly powerful experience.
