The Thin Red Line is a war movie that is unlike its counterparts, with much of the film revolving around the soldiers' philosophical musings about war and human nature. In fact, if you removed the battle scenes, you would probably be lulled to sleep by the gorgeous cinematography and subdued dialogue for the majority of the film.
