This is a very good war film. The battle sequences are some of the best I have seen in a while. The film also has a quieter side, as the soldiers reflect about the war, about God, existence, immortality, etc.
Nick Nolte's performance also enhanced the film a great deal for me. This is a fine effort from director Terrence Malick.
