Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Jim A — 13 May 2012
THIN RED LINE - Malick's depiction of war, fear, loss, and mental anguish is so vivid that it makes Saving Private Ryan look like "the feel-good movie of the year". While the story isn't as heroic as the critically acclaimed Spielberg flick, this film recruits your imagination and places you as an enlisted soldier to witness the horrors of war and those who've lived it.
