Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Vincent Solyenincy G — 28 Jul 2012
The thin red line from director Terrence malick is perhaps , the most humanistic film in modern filmmaking of the 90's and a realistic journey through human soul. One of the most perfect movies, Not as shoking as Steven spielberg's Saving private ryan of the same year, but better, Spielberg's saving private ryan changed cinematography and montage , in the other way, Malick's masterpiece changed the war genre , with a quiet storytelling, a powerfull and poetic Score and a massive cast, I prefer Platoon and The thin red line among other war movies like Saving private ryan,Schindler's list and The longest day, because those movies are just about the glory of a country or a character, not About the pressure, reality and suffering behind the lines as Platoon and The thin red line and 'River kwai'.
