Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Shane D — 25 Oct 2013
I've always really enjoyed this film - unlike other war films of its time that were either chock full of butch and bravado or had a touch of Spielberg - this was much slower, much more introspective.
Not being a huge fan of Malick's work since (the height of navel gazing - beautiful navel gazing mind you), this had the balance just right. Great performances from Caviezel, Penn and Nolte abounds.
