A pretty darn good war epic that centers less around the battles and violence and more about what war does to the mind. What it does to family and the psyches are involved. The cast is brilliant and every turn there is a star.
Nolte is awesome as commander. The battle scenes are pretty good and the landscapes are awesome. It's well made and it shows overall what war does to the mind and the effect it can have on ones life.
If you are lookin for a lot of action this isn't the movie for you.
