Review of The Thin Red Line (1998) by Tristan M — 24 Jan 2015
Although this movie does have its downsides, such as some boring scenes, pointless anoying flashbacks, a crapload of actors and and scenes that drag out for to long, this is a largely overlooked movie, along with When Trumpets Fade, probably cuz they came out in 1998, the same year as Saving Private Ryan.
It has some great scenes, such as the very caotic charge though the Japanese village (one of the best scenes in the movie). Althought not as intense as Saving Private Ryan it gives a better point of view of what the soldiers thought of it all, and to cap it all off a great ending.
Good movie about the battle for Guadalcanal. Number twelve on my top 15 favorite war movie list.
