Review of The Thin Blue Line (1988) by Michael H — 19 Oct 2007
Beautifully shot, all of the subjects are framed up like paintings. Stephan Czapsky was one of the DP's, he also did A Brief History of Time with Morris, the other guy was Robert Chappell who did Fog of War with Morris.
The cinematography in A Brief History of Time was beautiful as well. I saw a bit of a documentary on Errol Morris and it said all of the interviews he shot for A Brief History of Time were sets. I think this works well with the whole painting metaphor.
Good stuff, and very engaging for a documentary, I wonder if it inspired the or was inspired by the whole "True Crime" drama thing on TV?
