Review of The Thin Blue Line (1988) by Rodney E — 07 Dec 2009
An absolute eye opener for anyone interested in seeing our flawed justice system in all it's glory. The Dallas, Texas d.a. and police force in general doesn't fare too well here either in their rush to nab a cop killer in 1976.
Through interviews and re-enactments we get a portrait of a crime scene and two men at the center of it. Randall Adams rots behind bars for 13 years before this documentary got him released and David Harris is let loose after many troubling run ins with the law before finally being sentenced to death for killing another man and fabricating a story that got Adams locked up in the first place. Shows how one chance encounter with a person and conflicting reports, lack of any hard evidence, can get an innocent man sentenced to death. Good thing justice ultimately prevailed.
