Review of The Theory of Everything (2014) by Andy N — 17 May 2015
Eddie Redmayne is fantastic, let's just get that out of the way. He deserved the Academy Award. I didn't think so before the movie, now that I've seen it, every vote from every person should be Eddie Redmayne.
He is an outstanding actor and this performance is so damn good it actually made the real life Stephen Hawking cry and say that at times it looked as if he was actually watching himself on camera. Eddie Redmayne, if he continues down this path, is the next Daniel Day Lewis.
With that out of the way, not my favorite movie. It's a good movie, if you like romance flicks and there are some really good parts to the film, it's just not my cup of tea. My wife liked it and Redmayne's performance was outstanding.
See it for his performance alone and if you enjoy romance movies it's probably even better.
