It's advertised as a love story, it's seen for the history, and it never delivers on either. The Theory of Everything's excellent two leads are completely wasted on a script which, when it doesn't feel unfocused, feels cliche, making what could be a fascinating biopic into a complete chore.
In the end, The Theory of Everything could be renamed "The Theory of Nothing" since it won't make you feel much in the end.
