Review of The Theory of Everything (2014) by Cade H — 13 Sep 2015
Is The Theory of Everything a great look at the incredible life of Stephen Hawking? Yes. Is it a good love story between Stephen and his first love? Not really. This movie was marketed as an emotional, intense romantic film about the struggle with love as one persons life slowly deteriorates.
It was almost odd at times with the way the couple interacted and only in the beginning was the connection between the two strong. If you take that aspect out of the picture, the rest of the film was very entertaining and fascinating to watch Hawking's life play out.
I am not sure how much of it was 100% accurate but either way, it was enjoyable. The acting was great, especially by Eddie Redmayne who deserved all the recognition he got for his role. If your looking for a romance film for the ages, this is not it.
If you want a fascinating story about a incredible man, then you can't go wrong here.
