Review of The Theory of Everything (2014) by Andy C — 18 Jun 2016
Sweet romantic approach to the life of Stephen Hawking that from what else I have read seems to have glossed over the end of his first marriage when he divorced Jane after thirty years of marriage for the possessive and then abusive nurse he married for four or so years, then left.
During the time when Elaine Mason was his wife, he hardly saw his children or family. When he divorced her, no allegations of abuse of him on her part were made, but once again he started to maintain a closer relationship with his family.
Somehow I doubt that he ever made the mistake of allowing a caregiver to so take over his life again. So all has not been quite as fire-tale like and rosy as this movie maintains. However, Eddie Redmayne did play a very charming Stephen Hawking.
