It's a fine example of a horror film, that could have been good. I was entertained by the first third of this film, the idea of the sheriff being a psychopathic monster and the scene after a car-crash was brilliantly done.

But by the time our victims get to his house, this is where the film can't choose which direction to go and basically commits suicide. It lacks any of Tobe Hooper's backyard trash thrills or his scares in demented acts.

It becomes boring and predictable and it's another example of a film that refuses to end itself. Any of the last 20 scenes could have been a satisfying ending, but no, it won't allow you to be pleased with it.

But it's a Michael Bay production, what do you expect? I walked into this not knowing what to expect, and was slightly pleased at first but in the end, it doesn't stand out from being a horror remake that sucks.
