Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) by Jason H — 12 Mar 2011
Well I saw this film on tv a litte while ago and ever since then I have been debating whether I should give it a good review (NO Leatherface is not standing right behind me as I'm writing this lol)or a bad one but I have come to a conclusion.
The plot is about a group of young adults who are in a rural part of Texas, there they are taken captive by the Heweit family and well.... you know. Now what I didn't like about this movie is that it doesn't really explain very well why Leatherface is how he is, sure his family is nuts but still.
Next is that there are tons of stupid scenes and if you are like me you will be questioning this movie long after you stoped watching it. And my last gripe is this just like the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th the ending was TERRIBLE!! Again I knew what was going to happen its so cliche, and what also makes me angry is that Tobe Hopper (the director of the orginal Texas Chainsaw Massacre) was involved in this, Tobe how could you let this happen? But what did I like well, R.
Lee Ermey was great as Sheriff Hoyt and still has a comanding pressence. Next is that there are a lot of pretty good scares, when your sitting there thinking over and over in your head "Oh man, she's gonna get killed, wait no she won't,oh man this is intense".
But bottom line it just seems like another poorly put together Slasher film.
