Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Sean P — 30 Jul 2010
I watched this movie as a rental in 1986. I just rewatched it, and I have to say, it's campy and obviously not at all like the original. Yes, it's disappointing if your looking for the same elements from the 1974 version, but it stands on its own.
Who could forget:
Dennis Hopper swinging the chainsaws around as the store keeper looks on.
"Lick my plate, you dog dick".
The longest river crossing bridge in Texas as Leatherface takes his first victims. (The x-ray specs and douche with the phone).
The return of The Cook "Look what your brother did to the door!" from the original.
That nasty coat hanger that chop top was heating and using to scrape the flesh from his scalp.
Mr. Shark.
The embarrasing moment when the chainsaw blade was as a phallic instrument between Leatherface and the female DJ.
The continuing bond that the female DJ and leatherface seem to have when he cuts off the face of his victim and gives it to her so she can wear it.
