Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Al M — 04 Mar 2011
Tobe Hooper takes the Chainsaw Massacre in a different, more humorous style akin to some of the cheesier 80s slasher films but with mostly poor results. TCM2 is funny at times, always over the top, and brutal in a few moments, but overall it's just a cheesy piece of 80s slasher garbage that in no way compares to the visceral body horror of the original.
It features way more gore than the original, but none of it ever hits home in the gritty, realistic way that the original did.
