Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Chris B — 18 Dec 2010
A typical mainstream sequel for a great low budget horror film. While the budget is higher, the story isn't nearly as good and the acting doesn't make it any better. The cinematography doesn't play up the scare factor like the original, but the special effects do.
Effects legend Tom Savini, adds more gore to this 80's horror, than most films have today. I was going to give this film two stars because I wasn't sure if Leatherface's perverted humping of his chainsaw was meant to be scary or just really disturbing, but Dennis Hopper spending over half of the movie just running around with a chainsaw and screaming for no reason is worthy of another star.
