Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Dustin D — 18 Feb 2011
I usually didn't like this sequel of the original 1973 Texas Chainsaw Massacre for one reason. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 takes place after the events of the first film and the story is all about a radio host being terrorized by Leatherface and his cannibal family and the radio host must find an escape before she dies as well.
This is not a good sequel for one reason because the film itself is not scary and it doesn't have enough scares or some suspense and tension like the original. The story is ok but it's really boring and dumb for one reason.
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was really suspenceful and atmospheric but this one is not scary or gory as well. The film iself is more of a black comedy film than a horror film for one reason. There's just some good gore scenes from Tom Savini but I really don't like this film for one reason because the film itself is not scary, intense or suspenceful.
The acting was also fine but there are some actors and actresses in this film who are not good and they also spoiled the entire film. Leatherface wasn't even scary in this sequel but in the original he was really scary and he was even scarier in the remake than the original film he is even scarier in the prequel to the remake as well.
Anyways this is not a good sequel the movie itself is really boring and really bad as well. If your looking for a good horror film then go for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre along with the remake and the prequel to the remake because those three films are much better than the other sequels of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre including this one.
I would give this film a 4/10 because this film is not scary for one reason.
