Review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) by Mick T — 25 Dec 2012
Misunderstood and destroyed by critics upon its theatrical release in 1986, this is now considered by many horror fans as one of the finest sequels ever made, having a satiric tone not dissimilar to DAWN OF THE DEAD involving society and consumerism.
Hopper is surprisingly effective and not as bat-shit crazy as others claim he's here; in the early scenes with Stretch, he even garners a bit of sympathy. And remember: the secret is in the meat!
