Review of The Terminator (1984) by Josh K — 26 May 2013
Probably James Cameron's first attempt at science fiction, this film is impressive and proves why the science fiction genre is Cameron's best. The film focuses on a killer android who is sent back in time in order to kill an unborn child who will soon become the leader in the future of a human rebellion against machines.
The film is at times confusing, though we are also asked to question and see what is going on. Arnold Schwarzenegger strikes gold as the killer robot, while Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn perfectly support him.
Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast, bringing this very believable performance to the character. The film ends with the possibility of a sequel, while also showing why Cameron loves this genre.
