Did James Cameron know of the legacy this movie would inspire? Regardless, this movie is still incredible, even by today's standards. The stop-motion animation is a bit of a bother, but it must have been some fine work back then.
It remains unbelievably well done and entertaining. There are still very few movies like it today - if at all.
