Review of The Terminator (1984) by Bivo M — 03 Jan 2016
I will always chuckle at those "I'll be Bach" music sweatshirts. Thanks to this film, we have iconic Schwarzenegger one-liners! Taping love from both gun-nuts and cyborg geeks alike, James Cameron's 1980s masterpiece bridges action, thriller, sci-fi and romance genres. Nodding to the works of Harlan Ellison, the core theme of Terminator is Man versus Machine. I am in awe, even looking back at this film from the 2010s, at how great the explosions, gore, mechanisms, and stop-motion animated sequences turned out.
Tagline: Every good cyborg needs a black leather jacket and a pair of sunglasses.
