Governed by an iconic Scwarzenegger performance, primitive prosthetics and a legendary plot flaw, James Cameron's silly 80s chiller is a true modern classic.

In the age of Terminator Genisys, the pure simplicity of Cameron's film is now more admirable than ever. It's genuinely impressive how easily and well The Terminator works and flows, fleeting through various genres along the way, and the film's place in popular culture is a true testament to its recognised greatness.

Michael Biehn makes the perfect sweaty, scatty time traveller and Stan Winston's crude, cleverly edited effects work reminds us of the days Sci-Fi films had restraint, and didn't resemble what it'd look like if a bunch of actors got lost inside the latest Playstation 4 title.

Essential action with Arnie at his robotic best.
