Review of The Terminal (2004) by Frisby 2 — 03 Mar 2011
The idea of a man waiting later living (litteraly) in the airport may sound ridiculous, but is in fact an amazing, & well written movie.
It may be a romantic comedy, but it is better than that. Stephen Spielberg did a lovely job directing it in a simple, yet lovable way. And to make it better, Tom Hanks is in it. It also has a good message on how someone can stay loyal to a promise they make.
Directing: It is simply directed, but directed in a very lovely style. It has a warm, & funny feel to it.
Music/Score: Perfectly suited for the movie. It has that airport, comedy, & blues-like feel to it. It's not something I would put into my iPod, but it is very lovely indeed.
Characters: It is rather hard to see Tom Hanks as an Russian[?] immigrant, but he plays the part perfectly. Catherine Zeta Jones's character is not the typical, cliche girl you'd see in other romantic comedy movies. She's written much more seriously, & believable. The rest of the cast is well chosen as well (even hot babe Zoe Saldana makes an appearance in here).
Plot/Story: It's may be a romantic comedy, but it's not a typical one. This one has an almost original plot, & the story is very moving, funny, & beautiful.
Acting: It is phenomenal. Enough said.
Final summation, a very lovable film that will have you laughing, & rooting for the character as it proceeds.
