Review of The Terminal (2004) by Ian H — 27 Feb 2010
The Terminal is a highly enjoyable movie, and although it's not perfect, it's the kind of movie you can watch, feel sophisticated, but not think too hard in the process.
In terms of plot, it's mildly predictable, but not so much that it's unbearable to watch. Basically, Hanks plays a traveller who doesn't speak much English. During his flight to JFK, there is a coup in his country and his passport is no longer valid. Because of this, he can't clear customs and must stay in the airport until it clears up. The rest of the movie is about the wacky things he does here. Hanks, as usual is strong in the lead. Tucci and Zeta-Jones are also very good in their supporting roles. Spielberg gives as usual masterful directing. Overall, a good movie.
