Review of The Terminal (2004) by Sandip R — 14 Apr 2011
Spielberg's attempt to do quirky ends up as a soulless, overlong, boring attempt at dissecting the psyche of a man with no identity. Although the premise is full of promise, the screenplay, the character development and the supporting characters are all single dimensional, the main character, whose existence should in itself be inspirational for its mere perseverance, is convoluted.
Tom Hanks is lost and wasted in a role that gives him nothing to work with, and an accent that can be traced to no place in general, Catherine Zeta Jones seems lost and confused, probably because she cant understand why a beautiful air hostess has to settle for a man who lives in an airport, and a man trying to do his job becomes the villain (Stanley Tucci).
