Review of The Terminal (2004) by Keith W — 04 Jul 2011
You know, many say that Forrest Gump is Tom Hanks's best role. I disagree because everything was good in that film until he ran back and forth around the USA for years, and it was an unnecessary scene to watch.
The Terminal on the other hand has captured everything that was so special in Hanks's other movies and put them in his full potential with one of the best screen-plays I've ever seen. Personally, having Hanks to play as Viktor Navorski was my hero because while he's stuck in the Terminal and is all hopeless, he never gave up and helped those who needed help in the Terminal.
From beginning to end this movie made me smile because of its witty humor and charming atmosphere. Usually whenever I see an actor/actress in a movie, he/she doesn't seem to at all try to act like a different character, but rather sound and talk the same as every movie they are in, but here, Tom Hanks made me forget at one point that he was Tom Hanks; gave me the suspense of disbelief that he was Viktor Navorski as a person; that's some good acting! Despite what any critic who has hardly any appreciation for magical movies such as this, this has got to be one of the most underrated movies of all time.
It has all the qualifications to be a true classic and win Oscars, but suddenly people don't realize that this movie has what it takes to be one true classic and I recommend you all to watch this movie because it's more worth your time than any other drama/comedy films out there.
