Review of The Terminal (2004) by Tom M — 03 Dec 2011
Directed by Steven Spielberg, this romantic comedy is a bit of a throw-back, really. The kind of movie that would have stared Jimmy Stewart decades ago. A lovable guy caught in a bureaucratic whirl-wind who finds romance among the torment and makes friends that rally to his cause as he out-wits and out-waits the government getting in the way of his mission.
Itâ(TM)s really a romantic comedy from the 40â(TM)s brought into modern times. And itâ(TM)s rather good because it has some genuinely funny moments set among the troubles we all live through in the greatest terrorist victory of our post 9-11 age.
..The TSA at our nationâ(TM)s airports. And Tom Hanks plays the stranded Eastern European traveler to the hilt. A good movie for a rainy day. Recommended!
