Review of The Terminal (2004) by David C — 12 Aug 2012

Probably I am one of the few people that put this on their top favorite movies. Maybe it should not be but that all so relative what it is great or not. I personally adore this movie. But lets start slowly.

Starring Tom Hanks, "The Terminal tells the story of a man called Viktor Navorski, born in the fictional country of Krakhozia, who sees himself stuck on NY airport, because of a war on is his country. He lives in the terminal, meeting new people andwainting for is time to return home.

People can make the criticisms they want to this film but I think plausiblity can't be one of them. First, because most movies have actually unrealistic storylines ( and sometimes that is a good thing) and secondly because this situation actually happen to a man from Iran.

But I know this is a very likely movie to unlike because some people don't dig these stories. My point of view is that everything is so well defined that I actually believe the situations. The characters are great, the sets are cool ( it is not a real airport, Thats impressive) and I felt the atmosphere of it.

It features good amount of comedy ( even if some jokes could work better) and it has real emotions and entertaing scenes. It is a movie that knows what it it is and what wants to deliver.

Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors and he prooves this once again. Seeing him acting in this one, I see Viktor Navorski. I see a man without a country who is waiting to have one. The other performances make the movie flow too and thats positve.

In the end, "the Terminal" is about wainting. And it can also simbolize how much we wait to reach what we want, even if we can't do it, wainting it is always worth it.
