Review of The Terminal (2004) by Patrick M — 11 Sep 2012
Steven speilberg is not a comedy director. he nails drama and suspense, but he can't quite hit the spot with his comedy. tom hanks was okay, even if his accent was extremely irritating, and catherine zeta-jones was good, but a bit underused.
I loved the storyline. it was fantastic, and the name for tom hanks' imaginary home country was very well thought up. usually imagined titles for a country in movies are hideously slack and wholly unbelievable, but the name Khrakozhia was great.
it seemed so real. unfortunate though, that some of the support characters were terrible actors. and I say actors, because the female actors were fine. some of the plot developments were predictable, and some of them were good.
over all, a good film, but not the spectacular movie it should have been.
